A. Functions
Elliptical
sentences is used to show similiarities and differences.
1. Similarities/persamaan
·
Positive form
a. So (juga/begitu juga)
b. Too (juga/begitu juga)
Examples :
1) Jenis nominal
Rina
is beautifull and so is Rani
Rina is beautifull and Rani is too
(Rina cantik dan begitu juga Rani)
2) Jenis model
Rina
can sing and so can Rani
Rina can sing and Rani can too
(Rina bisa bernyanyi dan begitu juga Rani)
3) Jenis verbal
Rina
sings beautifully and so does Rani
Rina
sings beautifully and Rani does too
(Rina
bernyanyi dengan indah dan begitu juga Rani)

Negative form
a. Either (juga/begitu juga)
b. Neither (juga/begitu juga)
Examples :
- Rina can not dance and neither can Rani
